Why the Caldera® Emerge™ Cold Plunge?

Many cold plunges are a tub hooked up to a separate chiller, or a stock tank you fill with bags of ice. The Caldera Emerge is built like a Caldera spa, with a finished acrylic shell, a premium cabinet, an insulated cover and a cooling system designed into the unit. Caldera Spas has been building hot tubs for 50 years, and Relax & Retreat is the exclusive Caldera Spas dealer for Dallas-Fort Worth.

    • No ice required. Set the water anywhere from 40°F to 80°F, and a 4kW variable-speed heat pump holds the temperature you choose.
    • Plugs into a standard outlet. It runs on 115V / 15 amps and comes with a GFCI-protected power cord. No 240V wiring. Fill it, plug it in and set your temperature.
    • Quiet. The cooling system runs at under 50 dBA, so you won't have a loud chiller humming next to your patio.
    • Cleaner water with less work. A built-in UV-C sanitation system and an EnergyPro circulation pump keep water moving through a 25 sq. ft. filter. You still keep a small amount of sanitizer in the water, but upkeep is simple.
    • Fully insulated. Multi-density closed-cell foam, a sealed bottom and a custom-fit 4" WeatherPro cover help hold the temperature so the heat pump runs less.
    • Room to stretch out. At 7'4" long and 3'6" wide with 110 gallons of water, one adult can lie back for a full-body plunge instead of crouching in a barrel.
    • Finished like a spa. Underwater LED lighting, topside LCD controls, an Arctic White shell and a choice of Ash or Mocha cabinet.
    • Indoors or outdoors. Put it in the backyard, or in a garage, home gym or covered patio as long as the space is well ventilated.

    What's Included With Your Emerge

    • Delivery and setup by our own crew. We never subcontract delivery.
    • Custom-fit insulated cover
    • Startup chemicals
    • Spa School: a walkthrough of the controls and water care, so you're confident from day one.

At just 29 inches tall, the Emerge doesn't need steps or a cover lifter. Ask us about financing and trade-in value for your current spa.

Pair a Cold Plunge With a Hot Tub

Many of our customers pair an Emerge with a Caldera hot tub for a hot-and-cold routine at home. Because the Emerge can also be set as warm as 80°F, it doubles as a cool soak on a hot Texas afternoon. Ask our team about adding an Emerge to your hot tub purchase.

Where to Put Your Cold Plunge

    • A solid, level base: Caldera calls for a reinforced concrete pad at least 4 inches thick.
    • Breathing room: leave at least 24 inches of clearance at the back and sides for airflow to the heat pump.
    • Power: a dedicated 115V, 15-amp outlet within reach of the 17-foot cord. No extension cords.

    Cold Plunge FAQs

How cold does the Caldera Emerge get?

You can set it anywhere from 40°F to 80°F. After a fresh fill, cool-down time depends on the weather. Caldera estimates about 10.5 hours to go from 80°F to 40°F on a roughly 98°F day, and less when it's cooler outside.

    Do I need ice?

No. The built-in heat pump chills the water and holds your set temperature, so there are no bags of ice to buy or haul.

Does a cold plunge need special electrical?

Not the Emerge. It plugs into a standard 115V, 15-amp outlet with the GFCI-protected cord it comes with, so there's no 240V installation. Caldera recommends a dedicated outlet and no extension cords.

Can I put a cold plunge indoors?

Yes. The Emerge can go indoors, such as in a garage or home gym, as long as the space is well ventilated. It works outdoors too.

How do you keep cold plunge water clean?

The UV-C system and filter do most of the work. You'll keep a small sanitizer level, rinse the filter monthly, replace it every 6–8 months, replace the UV-C lamp once a year, and drain and refill every 3–6 months. We go over all of it at Spa School and stock the supplies in our showrooms.

    Is the Emerge loud?

No. The variable-speed heat pump runs at under 50 dBA.

How much does a cold plunge cost?

Pricing depends on current promotions and whether you pair it with a hot tub. Call or stop by any of our three showrooms for current pricing. Delivery, setup, the cover, startup chemicals and Spa School are included.

    What's the warranty?

Caldera covers the shell and surface for 5 years; plumbing, components, the heat pump and cabinet for 3 years; and the LED lighting, UV sanitation system and cover for 2 years. Warranty service is handled by our own certified technicians.

Do you deliver cold plunges in Dallas-Fort Worth?

Yes. Our own crew delivers and sets up the Emerge throughout Dallas-Fort Worth and North Texas.
